A New Blog – A New Life

First, to answer a couple questions I keep receiving … this is a WordPress Blog using iThemes Builder (themes) and Akismat (fab widget!) to catch the spam.  I love the format and it’s very versatile as I get more and more comfortable with it. This blog’s format still has a way to go as the learning curve and challenge of finding time is a constant adventure. I do all this myself, am self-taught and getting old … so I work slowly!! Thanks for your nice comments and your patience. Remember one thing, if I can do this at 66 years-young, anyone can!!! __________________________________________________________________________________________

For 13 years I have had the amazing job of editing and publishing bestselling and award-winning novels written by my husband, J. Robert Whittle and myself (I include myself because although I have only become his official co-author in recent years, I was always his copy editor. Being the person who ran the office, organized all the websites and, as he is wont to add, organizing “his life” too! … my part in this success story is huge (I admit modestly). But I also have another life as you will here discover! (Note: The books above are the ones I have authored or co-authored, my husband also has 7 other novels that are not on this page.)

Besides ‘keeping the home fires burning’ as my parents and grandparents used to say, and trying to keep contact with our very spread out, blended family of four children, many grandchildren and four great-grands. Sadly, only one of these families live in the Victoria area so only one little grandson is closeby. I also love my hobbies and in the past couple of years I’ve been trying to fit them in a little more … photography, digital scrapbooking, health, and genealogy (using Facebook to find our worldwide family).

  With all this going on, it’s sometimes difficult for me to remember I have a business to run and, for me, this would be editing, publishing and marketing Robert’s and my 12 amazingly popular books which remain my focus and will for some years to come. Many of our novels are set in the area where we live – Victoria, BC and the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Robert still sells the books at the Bastion Square Summer Market (outdoor in the centre of town) and I am still publishing, producing and looking after the websites, although not with such urgency now (don’t tell Robert I said this!!) Our bestselling and award-winning novels are the product of my husband J. Robert Whittle’s amazing imagination and natural talent which we fortunately discovered in 1995. The books are available through our website, craft shows and craft markets in BC, Canada. Our books are also found in select bookstores in Victoria, BC and Vancouver Island and by phoning us (see contact page).

When I published the first of our books in Dec. 1998, weren’t we surprised when people wanted more and put Robert under such pressure , I had to produce a book every year for 9 years! Who was the one under pressure eh!

Thanks to the loyalty of our countless thousands of devoted fans who ask us regularly if we will continue a series or write a sequel to our single novels. Sorry, they are all complete … we just had to slow down but we are still working on others! There won’t be a new book in 2011 but we did get all our books on ebooks this year. We’ve come an incredible distance in the publishing industry for two amateur ‘oldies’ and we’re not quite ready to quit yet!
